Hi everyone,
My name is Jayson, and I am an 8th grader at Nathan Bishop Middle School in Providence, Rhode Island. I am very excited to share that I have been selected to attend the Close-Up Civics Program in Washington, D.C. through the non-profit Close-Up Foundation. I earned this opportunity through my academic excellence and dedication in my civics class, and I am honored to be one of the students selected to represent my school and community on this trip.
The Close-Up Program gives students a chance to explore our nation’s capital, visit important landmarks, and learn directly about how government, law, and leadership work. I have always had a strong passion for law and justice, and my dream is to one day become a lawyer so I can help people, stand up for what is right, and make a difference in the world. This trip will give me the chance to see how laws are made and how leaders work to solve real issues, which really inspires me.
Outside of school, I am a high-honors student and a well-rounded athlete. I play soccer, run track, and always give my best in everything I do. Balancing sports, school, and my goals has taught me a lot about discipline and hard work, and I want to use those lessons to help others in the future.
The total cost of this trip is $1,820, which covers flights, hotel, meals, and all activities. Both of my parents are doing everything they can to make this opportunity possible for me, but I know it is a big expense. I wanted to take the initiative to start this GoFundMe myself so I can do my part and help lift some of the weight off of them.
If you are able to donate or share this page, it would mean so much to me. Every little bit helps me get closer to this amazing learning experience that could shape my future and help me take the first steps toward my dream of becoming a lawyer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me. I truly appreciate your kindness and encouragement.
Sincerely,
Jayson
