Jay’s Traumatic Brain Injury Recovery

Donation protected
On Wednesday, April 28th, my brother Jay (Jeremy Overly) was in a horrific accident. It was just like any other day and any other time. He was doing something he always did, helping a friend

My dad got a call that he had fallen and was taken to the the hospital.  I got a text from my dad, "call me 911".

Jay was working changing skylights on a roof when one collapsed underneath him. He fell 30 feet, face first into the concrete floor. He sustained life threatening injuries including a brain bleed, shattered face, eye injuries with unknown vision damage, shattered his left arm and wrist, broken right arm, broken right hip and has bruises on his lung and kidney.

He has been in the ICU where he is in and out of consciousness/sleep. He is confused and has barely recognized our voices. He has already gone to surgery once to fix his left arm, but that is just the beginning.

Today, he will go back to surgery with the Trauma and Plastic teams for facial reconstruction surgery. To fix his face, they will have to wire his jaw shut and he will need a breathing tube in his airway called a tracheostomy.

All the money raised will go to help pay for Jay's surgeries, his brain rehab and physical and occupational rehab which will take months. We have a long road of healing ahead and Jay is going to need all the support we can give him.

If you'd like to help out in other ways, please consider sending a card or picture of you and Jay that we can hang on his wall. We are also collecting video messages that we can play for him to lift his spirits. If you'd like to send something, please request the email/mailing address.

And prayers are always welcome!

Thank you for all your love and support.
Love,
Jays Family - The Overly's

Please note: Due to Jay's brain injury and amnesia, I, Kayla Cavanaugh-O'Keefe, Jays older sister will be withdrawing funds in my name to a separate account set up for Jay. 100% of funds raised will be used for Jay and his recovery!
