The lawsuits aren’t about protecting reputations, they’re about silencing criticism through financial intimidation. The plaintiffs, who have a well-documented pattern of targeting and harassing people on social media, are now using the courts to punish Jayne, Trent, and others for speaking out against their harmful behaviour.

Why This Matters

Jayne and Trent are respected members of Alberta’s progressive online community. They have used their platforms to amplify marginalized voices, hold the powerful accountable, and stand up against harassment and abuse. The plaintiff’s lawsuit, riddled with exaggerated claims, seeks massive financial damages from them and other lower-income defendants, hoping to drain their resources and scare others into silence.

This is a SLAPP Suit. We Can’t Let Them Win.
