Help Jaylin Heal After a Hate Crime in Balham
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m writing this on behalf of our beloved Jaylin Ye - actress, icon, and one of the kindest, most generous souls you could ever meet. Yesterday, Jaylin was violently assaulted in a brutal transphobic hate crime near Balham Station in South London. Two individuals - one male, one female - targeted her just for existing as her beautiful self, dragging her to the ground, kicking her repeatedly, screaming vile slurs, and leaving her bruised, bloodied, and traumatised. The police have been informed and the perpetrators will not get away with this.
Jaylin lost a chunk of her hair, most of her belongings, and was left covered in cuts and bruises. But worse than the physical pain is the emotional toll of being attacked simply for existing. She screamed for help, but no one came. No one should have to go through this - and yet too many of our trans siblings do. As her brothers, sisters and siblings we must do everything we can to support and elevate her.
Jaylin is a survivor - but survival shouldn’t have to come at a cost.
We’re raising funds to support her recovery — physically, emotionally, and financially. This includes:
Trauma therapy.
Replacing her stolen belongings.
Time off work and auditions while she heals.
Legal support, if she chooses to pursue justice.
And whatever she needs to feel safe and protected again, whether it be Ubers or staying elsewhere until she feels safe.
Jaylin has given so much to her community. She lights up every room she walks into with grace, humour, and heart. She shouldn’t have to ask (and didn't want to!) - but she needs us now. Let’s show up for her the way she’s shown up for so many of us.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. If you can’t give, please share widely.
Let's take the catchphrase and put it into practice.
Protect our dolls.
With love and fury,
Team Jaylin
