Hello, my name is Jaye Walls. I'm fundraising to help pay my bills because of a lack of work due to medical issues.
In 2021, I had to leave my occupation as an Operating Engineer due to two ruptured disks in my neck. I was able to have the disks replaced; however, also during this time, I was diagnosed with POTS disease. Postural tachycardia syndrome, or POTS, is a condition where the autonomic nervous system malfunctions, causing a rapid heart rate increase when standing up due to poor blood flow to the brain. After my recovery from double disk replacement in 2022 and my POTS diagnosis, I decided to go into handyman work for a living. Although I was successful for several years, my symptoms of POTS have reduced my work availability, caused a loss of clients due to rescheduling, and led to an increase in injuries from falling. Recently, with the economy tanking and unemployment sky-high, I have not had a reliable source of income for a few months now, and I find myself in a financial hole. It is at this time that I ask for support, whether it be $5 or more; anything will help me get back on my feet.
I am currently applying to various types of jobs. I have a lot of experience in social services, working with people with disabilities, individuals recovering from major head injuries, at-risk youth, children, and elderly care. Also, I'm in the process of applying for disability benefits; although, this process takes a long time to get approval to receive benefits.
I'm an artist at heart and have a lot of artwork and photography available. I have never really used my artwork to make money. I have given it away freely or as gifts.
