My name is Leticia Silva Jayden Deals Mother.
Currently, Jay has been at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for 6 days with a Staph Infection.
On Friday July 4th Dad and I knew something wasn’t right. After Jayden lying in bed for 8 hours with not wanting to eat or drink we knew we had to take him to the ER. We then discovered that Jay couldn’t walk. We had to call the ambulance where he was then taken to Wentworth Douglas Hospital.
They ordered him a MRI where they found fluid in the Sacroiliac Joint (SI Joint) and needed to be drained and sampled. They couldn’t do the procedure at WDH so they then transferred us to Mass General in Boston. As soon as we got here he went in for his second MRI this time with contrast. While waiting for the procedure, the bacteria grew in his bloodstream where they were able to identify it and start treatment. Unfortunately, the bacteria is still in his blood and it’s going to be a long process because of how deep the infection is on his joint and around that muscle. Jayden will be monitored for the next 7-10 days.. If all goes well and Jay is released they will put a PIC line in to make things easier at home for his medicines and IV. This will be a 6-8 week recovery with physical therapy. My Boy is strong and he will fight this sickness. We will continue to pray for a speedy recovery.
Any donations big or small would be greatly appreciated for treatment, travel back and forth, food and anything else he may need.
Best Wishes,
