On June 12th Jayden experienced sudden excruciating pain which initially was diagnosed as appendicitis. Jayden had an appendectomy the following day hoping this would put an end to his pain. However blood cultures confirmed Jayden was fighting Salmonella infection in his blood as he persisted to have excruciating pain. An MRI confirmed that the Salmonella infection had spread through his muscles all around his hips, thighs and buttock. Due to the infection Jayden has been unable to walk on his own, and as he regains his strength through physical therapy he has a long road to recovery. Jayden’s second MRI showed worsening and two abcess that had generated. By the third MRI the infection had affected part of Jayden’s hip bone. After 21 days, Jayden remains hospitalized with IV antibiotics as his inflammation markers continue to fluctuate and pain persists.
