Help Jayden Get Something off Their Chest

Hello!

My name is Jayden and I am a non-binary, transmasculine person living in Columbus, Ohio. I’ve been on a long journey of self-discovery over the past few years, and we are getting ever closer to the next step in my transition.

While I haven’t always had the language to express the way I feel about my gender, something that has always been hard for me to deal with is my body. I have never enjoyed having a larger chest. My body does not look proportional, my clothes don’t fit the way I’d like, and I am overall uncomfortable in my own skin. I have long considered the possibility of getting a breast reduction for a number of these reasons, and more, including chronic back pain. However, now that I have learned more about myself and my transgender identity, I have come to realize that I would be happiest with a completely flat chest. For that reason, I will be having masculinizing top surgery on April 20th with a great doctor at Ohio State East. I could not be more excited for this next step in my journey to finding my happy place within my body and within our world.

I am extremely blessed to have fantastic insurance as a graduate student at Ohio State, and a majority of my surgery will be covered. However, as a graduate student, I also know that it may be a struggle to pay the remainder of the costs not covered by my insurance. The purpose of this gofundme is to help me supplement the remainder of the costs. Based on estimates I’ve heard from others, I can expect the total amount out of pocket to be around $2-2.5k, but I have set this goal a little higher as a buffer and to provide room for supplies, medicine, and food.

I would sincerely appreciate anything you are willing to donate. Every cent of money donated here will go towards my surgery, and any extra funds leftover will be used on supplies, food, and bills while I recover.
