On Tuesday September 26th, 9 year old Jayden Cooper was taken to the doctor with what seemed to be persistent flu like symptoms that weren't going away. After running tests, blood work, and x rays, it was believed to be multiple lymphoma tumors in his abdomin. He was transported to Doernbecher's Children's hospital in Portland where a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, Jayden has Burkitts Hi Grade B Cell Lymphoma.
Doctors started chemotherapy and because the treament will be rapidly breaking down the tumors, it is believed Jayden will have to be on dialisis in a matter of days. Doctors are very hopeful and say there is a high percentage of survival in cases like Jayden's.
As you can imagine, no parent is prepared for this. Especially when it is as sudden as Jayden's case. Both his parents Jared and Tylore will be out of work, due to needing to be by Jayden's side for treatment. They will stay at Doernbecher's for at least a month for chemotherapy, and after that there will be trips up and back from Eugene to Portland for continued treatment.
This Go Fund Me is to cover their expenses, compensate their missed work, and give them all the support they need as their focus has to turn soley to Jayden at this point.
The entire family is hopeful that Jayden will over come this awful disease. They need love, encouragement and even some meals cooked when they return home. If you are unable to contribute financially, but would like to help in other ways, please contact me (Lindsey) through this Go Fund Me.
If you'd like to send Jayden or his parents anything, this is where they will be for the next month.
