Help Jayda Walk Again: A Second Chance for a Brave Girl

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

I never thought I’d be writing this, but my heart is breaking as I watch my sweet 3.5-year-old Bull Mastiff, Jayda, struggle to do the simple things that once brought her joy. She’s not just a dog—Jayda is my family, my companion, my protector, and my rock. She’s been by my side through every challenge life has thrown my way, and now, she needs help to get her life back.

Jayda’s Struggle

Jayda has already endured more than most. This summer, she tore her ACL in her left hind leg and underwent surgery, but tragically, that surgery has failed her. Three weeks ago, her right ACL and meniscus tore, leaving her unable to walk, sit, or even stand without excruciating pain.

After assessments at Essex Animal Hospital and Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital, here’s what the specialists have found:
  • Severe pain and instability in both hind legs, with the right side severely affected.
  • Toe-touching lameness, muscle pain, and atrophy in her legs.
  • Difficulty standing or transitioning between movements due to severe discomfort.
  • A full cruciate ligament tear and meniscus damage in her right knee.
  • She can barely maintain a standing position. Her once bright, lively eyes now plead for relief.

The Only Solution

Jayda needs TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery, a specialized procedure to repair her torn ligament and stabilize her knee. Dr. John at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital has assured me that this is a one-time surgery with a guaranteed success rate, giving her the chance to regain up to 80% of her mobility within two months.

The surgery is scheduled for January 16, 2025, and it’s her best shot at a pain-free life. Following surgery, Jayda will require at least 8 weeks of rehabilitation therapy to recover fully.

Why I Need Your Help

The surgery costs $5,700, and rehabilitation is estimated at $3,837. As many of you know, my business was devastated by a fire, and I’ve been working full-time and overtime just to cover expenses. Despite my best efforts, I simply cannot afford the cost of Jayda’s surgery.

This isn’t just about saving her life—it’s about giving her the quality of life she deserves. With your help, we can ensure Jayda gets the care she needs to walk, run, and play again.

Jayda’s Potential

Jayda is only 3.5 years old. She has so much life ahead of her—life filled with cuddles, walks, and playing with her brother, Sully. This surgery will change everything for her, giving her the chance to experience the joy that every dog should know.

Every Dollar Counts

Every day without surgery is another day Jayda suffers in pain. Your donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward:
  • TPLO surgery costs.
  • Rehabilitation therapy.
  • Follow-up care.

If you can’t donate, sharing this post will mean the world to us. Together, we can give Jayda the second chance she deserves.

Let’s Give Jayda Her Life Back

The prolonged closure of my business has been devastating, but the thought of losing Jayda because of financial constraints is unbearable. She’s my everything, and I can’t give up on her. Please help me give her the second chance she so desperately needs.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and support. Jayda and I will never forget it.

With endless gratitude,
Gillian & Jayda
