Jayceon is a 20-month-old premature baby who loves Mickey Mouse, Trolls, and Ms. Rachel. Despite everything he’s going through, he is a sweet and strong little boy. Since August 18, 2025, Jayceon has been in and out of the hospital after being diagnosed with Dyskeratosis Congenita—a very rare condition that affects about 1 in a million people. Because of this, Jayceon cannot make his own blood and is struggling with failure to thrive. His immune system is very weak, making him vulnerable to illness. Right now, he is battling an adenovirus infection, and doctors say he cannot receive the bone marrow transplant he needs until the virus is gone.
Jayceon has also developed a narrowing in his esophagus, which may have caused him to stop wanting to eat. He previously had an NG tube for feeding and now has a PICC line and a GJ tube to help with his nutrition and medical care. He constantly needs blood transfusions, especially with the many procedures doctors have to perform. He is currently taking Cidofovir to try to treat the virus, but unfortunately, it has not been helping and the virus levels are increasing. Doctors have discussed another medication called Brincidofovir, which is still being studied, so they are not certain if it will work for him. Another possible treatment option is adenovirus-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, if he can find a donor whose cells can help fight off the adenovirus. Otherwise, he may have to be transferred to a different hospital in another state to receive treatment with Brincidofovir.
Jayceon will also need a donor for a bone marrow transplant.‼️
This virus and his diagnosis are causing many symptoms including vomiting, blood clots in his stool, fevers, nosebleeds, and other complications. Because of everything going on with Jayceon’s health, I have lost my job while trying to stay by his side at the hospital and meet with doctors. At this point, I honestly don’t know what to do. If Jayceon does not get the help he needs, his life is at risk.
Funds will help cover rent, bibs, blankets, and the search for a donor. They will also help with medical bills, travel for treatment, and daily living expenses while I stay by Jayceon's side. This has been an extremely difficult time for me and our family. We are asking for prayers, support, and help with medical, travel, and living expenses during this time. Anything helps, and even sharing Jayceon’s story means so much to us.
