Help Jayce: Support His Medical Journey
Donation protected
On Sunday, December 8th, my son, Jayce Renner, had a grand mal seizure in my arms out of nowhere, forcing us to call 911. Jayce was transported by ambulance to Marquette General Hospital, where he later experienced another seizure.
Jayce has had several tests done. One in specific was a CT scan that I urged the emergency room doctors to give him. The results of that scan found huge pockets of cerebral fluid on Jayce's brain. He was diagnosed with a condition called Hydrocephalus. This means Jayce has a blockage somewhere in his ventricular shafts, not allowing his fluid to circulate around his brain, causing it to build up and cause multiple symptoms. We notified Jayce's mom and made a plan to have Jayce airlifted to U of M in Ann Arbor, MI, so that Jayce could receive the medical care he deserves.
After landing in Ann Arbor, Jayce underwent brain surgery. A ventriculoperitoneal shunt was placed inside his brain that goes down to his abdomen to drain the extra fluid around his brain. The shunt will remain in place for the duration of Jayce's life. The next step was to undergo an MRI to find the root cause of the fluid buildup.
We have received Jayce's MRI results but wish to keep the results confidential while we gain more answers and can confirm a plan of treatment. No matter what, Jayce will continue traveling between the Upper Peninsula and Ann Arbor for continued care.
This means a lot of expensive trips. We do not know what the future has in store for Jayce yet; we are taking it day by day and praying for God's continued mercy on our family right now.
Sara and I also have a baby girl arriving in February of 2025, along with the other two children we have. As we all know, Christmas is right around the corner, and all we want to do is focus on our son right now and not worry about finances. We own our own business, and we have currently halted all work to be with Jayce during this time.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help with the cost of transportation, medical expenses, meals, lodging, and any bills that may get behind in the future.
Please note that there is a separate GoFundMe account for Jayce's mother, Brittany Marvin, her husband Cody, and their two children as well. We are a connected co-parenting family who ALL want to be there for Jayce through this whole experience.
Also, GoFundMe takes a small portion of your donation. If you prefer that 100% of your donation goes to us, please consider a donation via Cash App.

Every single dollar raised will go specifically to the needs created by this life-changing event. As a parent, asking for help is one of the hardest things you could possibly do next to going through the unprecedented circumstances we are facing with our son.
Please continue to keep us all in your prayers, and we truly, truly appreciate any and EVERY donation.
God Bless
