Our family is in need of your help. On the weekend of January 8th, my brother, Jay Cresap, experienced 2 seizures for the first time in his life. After being rushed to the hospital and being stabilized, he underwent many tests to determine what had caused him to have these seizures. Test results came back and revealed Jay had a golf ball-sized tumor in his brain. He would need brain surgery as soon as possible to remove the tumor. On January 27th, Jay underwent brain surgery. The surgery was considered success and most of the tumor was removed. However, it left Jay without feeling in the entirety of the left side of his body and was also determined the tumor was cancerous and even though the tumor had been mostly removed- the cancer was still there. To be specific, Jay was diagnosed with Grade 3 Astrocytoma.
Obviously, this came as a shock to our family. Jay has began and continues to undergo aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments daily, to kill off any remaining cancer cells all while doing physical therapy each day in an attempt to re-learn how to walk and use any part of the left side of his body. He is currently bound to a wheel chair but we have faith that the feeling in the left side of his body will be restored.
In all he spent 10 days in ICU and 30 days in rehab. As you could imagine his medical bills are quickly adding up, closing in on a half million dollars and counting. Because of this traumatic event, Jay has not been able to do much on his own, much less go back to work. The purpose of this post is to raise money to help my brother continue his fight in kicking cancer’s ass! Funds will go directly to the medical bills that have already accrued and will continue to do so.
If you know Jay, you know he is one of the toughest yet kindest people you will ever meet. He is also the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He’s a loving son, brother and friend to many! My family and I are asking for your help. Please help Jay fight this cancer and get back to living a healthy life.
You can donate to this gofundme or directly to his Venmo which will be included below.
If you don’t have the means to donate monetarily, you can still help! Please share this post and send some prayers and good vibes Jay’s way.
Our family is eternally grateful for the outpouring of support we have already and continue to receive. We know with God, anything is possible and we are going to make sure Jay knows he is not fighting alone. Please reach out with any questions and from the bottom of my heart- THANK YOU!
Venmo: Joshua-Cresap please send with emoji, per Jay’s request. All new senders will need to include the last 4 digits of his cell which is 6369. If you have questions please ask me or any of my families members.
