My son, Jay lives in Palmer, Alaska. The night of June 11, a fire was started in the basement of the house he was living. At that time, he and his dog Nikki were sleeping in the second story apartment. Awoken by voices outside yelling  and the smell of smoke, Jay grabbed Nikki and tried to get downstairs to the front door, but was pushed back by thick smoke. He ran back into his apt, pushed Nikki out the window of the 2nd story, and then jumped after her.  This all happened in a matter of moments.  Jay sustained smoke inhalation, and fortunately is physically is ok, as is Nikki. However, Jay lost everything in the fire and needs help with rebuilding his life. Please consider helping if you can. No amount is too small. Thank you.
