A few days ago, everything changed. A fire destroyed our home - a space that wasn't just a place to live, but a project we poured our hearts into. The home was built from two shipping containers, designing the layout and shaping it piece by piece into something meaningful, with a deck that overlooked a quiet wooded area we love. In a matter of hours, it was all gone. The exact cause of the fire is unknown. We are incredibly grateful everyone is safe, but the loss is overwhelming. The home was not insured and along with it, we lost everything inside - furniture, appliances, tools, personal items and the many small things that made it feel like home.
Right now, we are facing the immediate challenge of cleanup, temporary housing and figuring out how to start over. We have created this fundraiser to help cover: fire debris removal and cleanup, temporary living expenses, replacing the container home and replacing essential belongings.
The past nine years we have had numerous friends, relatives and guests stay at our home as well as entertaining neighbors and friends on the deck. These memories and connections are a big part of what made our home so special, and the loss is felt not just by us, but by our community as well.
If you are able to contribute, it would mean more than we can put into words. And if not, sharing this page helps just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can offer - It truly makes a difference in our lives.
