On Saturday, June 7th, our family experienced a devastating tragedy. My sister's husband, Jay Kordonowy, was involved in a freak skateboarding accident. While riding, Jay fell at a high speed and struck his head directly on the asphalt. What was first thought to be a few broken bones quickly turned critical. Jay was rushed to Wesley Hospital, where doctors discovered a severe brain bleed, a fractured skull, and a broken collarbone. He was immediately taken into emergency surgery.

Doctors later said that had he arrived even minutes later, he may not have survived. Thankfully, the surgery went well, but Jay remains in the ICU as he fights through this traumatic injury.
