Help Jay Rebuild His Life in Dallas

Furries and all,
My name is Zilchexo and I am writing this on behalf of Jay, who I met online over the Christmas season. Jay is a homeless pup living in Dallas, who faced complications after attempting to move to California closer to his master. Jay had a December out of nightmares, and I related to that strongly as I was also going through a similar situation. With my encouragement, Jay sold the gun he was going to use to end his life, but he still needs help.
Let’s start at the beginning. When Jay was young, his single mother lost their apartment, and they had to move into a hotel, where his older brother severely physically and sexually abused him, his half-siblings, and his mother. She had different men in her life over the years, most of whom were drug dealers or pimps, and none of whom were safe. Jay has not maintained active contact with any of these relatives. This all might provide some background for why all this seems so crazy, and why he can’t really count on anyone but us.
I want to address the matter of Jay’s criminal record since certain individuals are keen to bring it into the conversation. I think this is a very sad and low thing that comes from a place of privilege or worse, but I digress. Jay has an old shoplifting charge from another period in which he was homeless; he did not know any better, and figured any outcome was better than continuing to suffer. Jay also has a charge for unauthorized use of a vehicle- his ex told him to leave their house after an argument, and Jay misunderstood and took the car they shared since he had no other mode of transportation and nowhere to go. If you can’t imagine yourself doing those things in his shoes, that’s fine, but that doesn’t make him undeserving of your charity or a lost cause.
More recently, as I said before, Jay attempted to move to California to be closer to his master. However, Jay was trespassed from where he had planned to stay in California due to his roommate, a different person, and their inconsistent expectations reaching a conflict point, which has not resulted in formal charges. Homelessness in LA is an epidemic, so Jay figured his best option was to come back to Texas after giving up his housing and his employment.
That brings us to now. Jay needs money for food, gas, and eventually housing, car repairs, and all the other costs of living. Jay has a car, and I have been involved with keeping him focused on finding resources for homelessness, food, connections, and work, and keeping himself safe. He has applied for app-based gig work in the short term, and we will be looking for housing and work in the long term. Jay’s skills include auto repair, customer service, sales, manual labor, and poetry. Jay only set up this GoFundMe at my insistence, because he doesn’t want to beg, but I know he needs a bridge to get to where he’s going to go. He is an honest, good, and hard-working guy. Please invest in his future and help out a member of our community.
