Hi, my name is Jainaya Masunu, but my teammates call me Jay.
I come from a family of seven — with two younger brothers and two older brothers — and I’m the only girl. Growing up with four brothers taught me strength, resilience, and how to push myself every day.
I am a very active athlete who competes in multiple sports, including wrestling, football, track & field, volleyball, and especially rugby, which is the sport I hope will help carry me into college. No matter the season, I give 110% to every team I’m part of. Through hard work and dedication, I’ve been honored to serve as team captain on most of my teams, leading by example both on and off the field.
Being a multi-sport athlete comes with many expenses — including travel, food, transportation, team kits, and gear — and it can be challenging for my family to cover everything.
I’ve been given the opportunity to compete in the upcoming Territorial Championship Tournament in Tampa Bay, Florida with my team, the PNW Loggers. This tournament is a major milestone in my athletic journey and an important chance for me to showcase my skills, gain exposure, and continue working toward my goal of playing rugby at the collegiate level.
This opportunity to go to Tampa, Florida means so much to me. With flights and team costs being expensive, I’m asking for help from those who are able. I’m incredibly thankful for every supporter — I’ll play my hardest and carry your support with me every step of the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me. Your support will help cover travel and gear fees, allowing me to represent my team, my family, and my community with pride.
Thank you so much for believing in me and supporting my journey.
