Help Jay Overcome Medical and Financial Struggles

Donation protected
Hello! I wanted to start this story with a little intro as Jay's friend. Jay is one of the most caring and selfless people I've ever met. Despite living across the country and meeting once in person, this man has so much love and support for his family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. He donates toys to his local children's hospital and works alongside others to spread the generosity. He has been a dear friend to me these past few years and the closest I can get to show my appreciation for him was helping him set up this GFM. Please read his story and consider donating any amount. No amount is too little!

Hi everyone, my name is Jeremy James Pletz (you can call me Jay) and usually I have quite a hard time asking for help (ask anyone i work with) but today, I kinda have to. In June, I was walking home from the grocery store and one of my bags was just way too heavy for me and halfway home i collapsed in front of someones house. LUCKILY they were home and gave me a ride to my apartment, and I got inside but I basically collapsed again for a good half-hour on my kitchen floor. Yes, in hindsight, I should have called an ambulance then, but I thought I'd be alright.

Flash-forward to early July---I was at work bringing something upstairs and I started feeling faint and my chest was hurting. I work at a restaurant and this was early Saturday morning in a tourist town, so i didn't WANT to say anything then, but one of my managers saw what was happening and brought me to the hospital. One X-ray and CAT scan later, and it was found that I have a Pulminary Nodule, which means a lump in my lung. I freely admit, I've been a 30 year smoker, but I'm not going to say the C-word until I find out one way or the other from my doctor. My next appointment is on September 3rd, 2025, and I hope to find out what's going on with me then, but I'm also a realist....

My bills have taken over my life---I only make about 1000 dollars per month, and my bills so far are JUST under 5000, but there are more to come.

I've turned my life around over the past several years I've been in therapy and my depression was basically kicked to the curb with how well my job is going (they love me there), but this situation has absolutely crushed me---financially, mentally and spiritually. I make too much money to get Medicaid (which is getting taken away anyways, so yeah) and I have no insurance. This is a burden beyond my capabilities.

I've been donating to charities for a couple of years now thinking nothing was ever going to happen me, and now, in the words of a wise man, "The s**tliners finally come in to port". ANY and ALL help will be GREATLY appreciated.
