Help Jay Moen Gain Independence with ALS
Donation protected
My name is Jay Moen. I have been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). It is a disease that robs a person of the ability to move. The motor neurons slowly die, leaving the person paralyzed. The mind is not affected, so I can still communicate through the use of an eye gaze computer. I have been fitted for a custom wheelchair that I will be able to control with head movements, then eventually with the eyes. I am trying to raise the money to help pay for the portion insurance doesn't cover. This wheelchair will give me the independence to move around the community and also give me the opportunity to make memories with my wife Lisa of 22 years and my 13-year-old grandson Chad, whom my wife and I are raising.
I want to thank everyone for any donations you can give; it is greatly appreciated.
