Help Jay get new prosthetic legs!
Donation protected
We started this fundraiser to help our dear friend Jay purchase a set of new prosthetic legs. Jay is a double amputee due to a debilitating peripheral nerve disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. His current prosthetics no longer fit properly and are causing major setbacks (pain & infections) to the point where they are no longer bearable to wear. After Jay’s insurance coverage the new prosthetic expense is $10,000. The longer he goes without prosthetics the longer it will take him to re-learn how to walk again with them. We are urgently asking for donations.
In addition, a couple of months ago Jay lost all of his personal belongings – furniture, bed, mattress, clothing, computer, tv’s, etc. due to a major mold condition in the apartment he was living in. He had to throw away the majority of his belongings and was forced to move with only a few possessions that he was able to recover. One of these situations would be difficult alone for any one of us to get through. With your help and kindness, we can help someone who despite all that he goes through never gives up and never stops living his life regardless of his challenges. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the disease that Jay has, it also affects his hands and he lives in pain daily which disables him from working. Before these recent events, Jay started making leather goods and sells a line of belts and wallets at Oxblood Ink. If you’re local and would like to make a purchase versus a donation, please stop in the shop to do so. All sales go directly to Jay. Thanks to all of you in advance for donating and or sharing. Let’s get this done for Jay!
