Help Jay get Cancer treatment

Hi, my name is Tiffany Ried. About a week ago, after months of weird and costant symptoms, we found out that my husband has cancer. It is as of yet unknown, we only know that it started in his tonsil and has already metastasized into his lymph nodes. Unfortunately, we currently don't have health insurance. I was diagnosed with late stage breast cancer about 3 1/2 years ago and a year later MS. I have since been disabled and am in the process of getting disability. It is a long and frustrating process. During the last 2 years while I have been going through the process,my husband has tirelessly worked and provided for our famly without complaint or frustration. Never once did he act like was a burden or that my many and constantly evolvng issues were a problem. Not only did he work 40 or more hours per week doig car restoration and painting, he would often come home and make dinner, walk the dogs, and help me with whatever things I needed help with. He was my own personal superhero and I have been so lucky to have him.

Due to all of my issues, money has been incredibly tight. His employer doesn't offer health benefits and it's been something that we haven't been able to afford ourselves since I haven't been able to work. As many people know, treatment for cancer is extraordinarily expensive. I am currently requesting the amount that research shows is the average amount. We are currently also in the process of getting him on medicaid and disability and we have high hopes. However, he curently can only work 12 hours per week because the medicaid program has been cut so much. Because of that my husband can only make 1330$ per month.

So, while we may be able to get some medicaid or disability for him, we will still need help with rent, food, and everyday life expenses. Once I have more of an idea of what that will look like, I'll be adjusting the amount that we're asking for. But, the truth is that he may need treatment for over a year, I did. And right now, we are using the local hospital and are accruing large bills. If he's approved for Medicaid, some of those bills will be taken care of, we aren't sure of anything right now.

Anyone that knows Jay knows that he's incredibly kind and caring. He's charming, witty, and funny. He'll drop almost anything to help a friend. He's loyal and forgiving. He's just one of the best people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I know that I'm asking a lot, but, if there's been anyone that I've ever known that deserves it, it's him.
