Help Jay fight bone cancer

Donation protected
My brother, Jason, was diagnosed with bone cancer in May 2023 and after completing 4 rounds of chemo to get his numbers down, he is about to begin the most intense portion of his treatment, T-cell Immunotherapy. During this time, he will be unable to work, will require full-time care, and his wife was denied short-term paid leave to serve as his caregiver. She will need to stay with him through this part of the journey and they will have very limited income. We are asking for your help to illustrate how much love is all around him and that he and his family are not alone.

The donations provided will be used to support him, his wife and son – paying for their mortgage, utilities, food, and other living expenses that emerge. Every other penny will be used for ongoing medical expenses (ex. $60/day for offsite hospital housing and additional bills/costs).

To share a bit more about where we have come from… back in March, Jason went in for routine blood work and found he had elevated levels of protein in his blood. After two months of additional tests, biopsies on his temporal artery and bone marrow, he found out he has multiple myeloma – a cancer that forms in plasma cells and builds up in your bone marrow. Most common in adults between 60-70 years old, my brother is only 49. The path for treatment has been long, already going through 4 rounds of chemo injections and pills – all while trying to continually work - but some side effects have already caused days to be missed. On October 15th, he will be moving into the hospital to begin T-cell immunotherapy – a month long process that requires hospital stay and care. During this time, his T-cells are removed, his body is put through a high dosage of chemo, and then will have his T-cells reintroduced to rebuild. Hopefully creating a clean slate and putting things into remission. He will need to be in the hospital for a week and then offsite care for an additional 3+ weeks because he will have no immune system and the doctors want to monitor closely. His wife would be his caregiver during this time and found out she cannot receive paid leave to play that role… so that’s where I come to you. We also anticipate his work being affected until the new year. While he would say everyone has their own challenges and never ask for charity, but I know people are inherently good. People want to help those in need. They seek out ways to share love and support. In times like this, they want to help in any way possible with no expectation of something in return.

Everyone who has met my brother is energized by him. He is so caring, dependable, and always puts family and friends before himself. It is our time to stand up, embrace this with him, and overflow him with the love and support he always shares out to others. Thank you for your generosity and thoughts / prayers. Know that your support will provide him and his family one less thing to worry about during his fight with bone cancer.

Thank you so much and God bless.
