On June 23rd, Jay Barbour, beloved owner of the Mediterranean Gyro Grill, was shot during a road rage incident at 29th Street NE and Norpoint Way. Jay is a kind man and one of the nicest people you see. He always greets his customers with a smile, the first to ask how they and their families are doing. Jay is a loving family man, husband, and father to 4 beautiful young girls (3-14). He is loved by many of his community members, customers, friends, and his family. He is actively involved in his community, very caring and eager to help people in need. An honest, hard-working entrepreneur, and a law-abiding citizen.

Unfortunately, his spinal cord was injured during the shooting, paralyzing him from the chest down. Jay has a long road to recovery. He will also need many modifications to his home, vehicles and restaurants. Now is our time as a community to step up and help one of our own.
