Hi, my name is Jaxon Smith, and I'm a varsity wrestler at Chaparral High School. This past year I discovered that I have a passion for the sport of wrestling.
This sport has given me more than just challenges and competition; it has created a profound and beautiful connection with my dad. My dad, Drake Smith, was a champion wrestler in high school. Even today, people still recognize him as an Etiwanda HS Legend! He continually challenges me to be better, to push myself, to learn, and to grow. His unwavering support and high standards inspire me daily.
Practicing and talking wrestling with him in our living room and on the mats in the garage has been an incredibly fun and enriching experience. It’s these moments that have brought us closer together and made our bond stronger. My dream is to become an All-American like my dad, surpass his records and achieve a higher placement at Nationals.
I just completed my sophomore year and despite being relatively new to wrestling I placed 3rd in both the California Greco-Roman and Freestyle State Championships. Now, I have the incredible opportunity to represent California and compete against some of the best wrestlers in the country at the 2024 Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota!
I am asking for your support to help me chase my dreams & my father’s legacy. Any contribution, big or small, would make a huge difference on my journey…
…from Temecula, to camp in Big Bear, to State team practices in Fresno and then to Fargo.
Thank you for your support & helping me pursue my passion and our shared dream.
Jax
