Hi Everyone
Jaxon's Story:
Recently one of our three son's Jaxon was admitted to the Calgary Alberta Children’s Hospital where doctors diagnosed him with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia.
The staff at ACH have been extremely helpful in explaining the short and long term effects and impacts of his diagnosis.
Thankfully Jaxon has begun treatment and has taken his first steps down the long path to remission.
Our Story:
The past two years have been an absolute roller coaster for my family, originally living in Calgary we had a successful small family business and I had a fulltime position with a reputable construction company.
Unfortunately due to the economic down turn, which drastically affected so many people’s lives in Canada; we were forced to close our family business due to a lack of business and I was laid off due to lack of work.
After many attempts to recover our situation in Calgary we made the tough decision to move out of province where work was available.
As a result much of our financial resources were tied up in finalizing the business closure and living expenses.
Where we are at currently?
Jaxon and I are currently living between ACH and the Ronald Mcdonald House in Calgary due to its close proximity to the hospital. Which looks like it will be our temporary home over the next nine months of treatment.
Lee and our other two boys Ryan and Ethan are continuing to residing at our home for work and school; travelling back and forth between provinces on weekends. Ryan requires fulltime daycre and ethan will be in afterschool programs and staying off and on with family after school while Lee attempts to maintain a steady full time income to support what expenses we have.
Why we need help?
Due to Jaxon’s treatment requirements I am unable to maintain any type of employment as he requires my full time care and attention and unfortunately it has become apparent that there are going to be considerable expenses involved which we currently cannot afford due to the loss of company medical coverage and out of province medical care.
What will your donations do for us?
Your donations would be vital to helping us support Jaxon’s:
Non-covered treatment medication & medical supplies.
Physical Therapy for his spinal fracture due to his poor bone mass, this is because 88% of his bone marrow is Luekemia cells.
Treatment Living Expenses
This would include temporary housing and consumable expenses.
Treatment Travel Costs:
Ensuring Jaxon gets to his weekly appointments and so his dad and brothers are able to see him on a regular basis which will help with his overall care.
And Childcare expenses for Ryan and Ethan while Lee works.
