[Updates at bottom]
Jax is our 12-year-old lab mix and truly our families best friend. He’s been with us since he was a puppy, and through all of our milestones. He is the silliest and most playful dog! His personality and cuddles have brought us so much joy over the years. He’s is also the kind of dog who makes everyone smiles, want to pet and say hello. And after losing our other dog Chloe in Aug, she was truly his side kick and he really misses her. Jax has always been there for us through thick and thin.
Recently, Jax’s blood work flagged multiple health concerns, and our vet mentioned the possibility of kidney/gall bladder issues. It was a tough thing to hear, and right now, we don’t have all the answers. The next step is to get imaging done so we can understand what’s going on and figure out the best way to help him. Without these tests, we can’t know for sure what’s happening or what treatment he’ll need.
The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward paying for Jax’s imaging services. This will help us get the answers we need and, hopefully, the medicine or care that will give him more happy years with us. If the news isn’t what we hope for, your support will help us make sure he’s as comfortable as possible. For anyone who is able to help—whether financially or emotionally—I can’t express how much I appreciate your support. Thank you for helping my family and our best friend.
Included is a photo of the est from the vet. Updates will be made to keep all donors informed as well as to provide transparency.
[Update]
We managed to get Jax in for imaging. Fundraiser amount has been updated to reflect new total. Unfortunately the imaging revealed an irregular internal mass in jax which the vet believes to be cancerous, his vet was unable to fully confirm due to jax's clotting factor posing an issue.
The vet said we could get a biopsy of the mass but wed need to take him to a more equipt facility to handle his clotting issue.
Considering jaxs age and the treatments hed have to endure if the mass is cancerous we've decided as a family to spend all the time he has left with us as a family.
Our vet has confirmed his mass isnt to a point it should cause him pain, he also showed no signs of reaction during their examination. They informed us of all the signs to be watchful of.
We truely thank anyone and everyone for helping our Jax, your help is whats allowing us to spend his remaining time with us in the best most comfiest way and to see him off when his time is right
