UPDATE 11/7/25

This is John. I just wanted to give an update on Jax. The full scan showed a VERY large tumor on his kidney which is cancerous. While he can have surgery to remove the kidney, the Cancer has also spread to both his lungs and nothing can really be done for that. Chemotherapy will only, possibly, control the nodules from growing, they won't shrink them. The surgeon said BEST case scenario is he lives a few months and worst a few weeks. We're just waiting for our vet to get all the paperwork and then we'll sit down with her to decide the best course of action. Again, thank you all. We love you all.

We received the results & yes, Jax has cancer. I've put pictures of the results here. I really just don't feel like saying anything right now. I'm sorry.

UPDATE 11/3/25:

Hey everyone. This is Laura. Since my cell phone records incoming and outgoing phone calls, it recorded our conversation with Dr Joe from Catskill veterinary. I do not have any way to upload the conversation except to tell you if you go to my Facebook page Laura Strika, I made a recording and let the recording record the conversation we had with the doctor after Jaxs' procedure tonight. You can listen to everything he said to us. We have an extremely long road ahead of us but he is worth it and I want to thank everyone for even reading this, for even sharing this. It means the world to us. To the people out there like the woman on Facebook who goes by the name of Sally Ann, who think We don't deserve this or we don't need it I just wish she would stop harassing me through my Facebook page and basically stalking me. Just leave us alone if you don't want to donate move along. You don't know us. You don't know our situation, and you don't know how we would help anyone else no matter what their house looks like, or what their decorations look like or anything else. Hey all,

Our names are John and Laura. Our friends know us and a lot of people have come to know us as the owners of Milford's House of Halloween. Those that know us know that the most important things in our lives are our pets. We recently took our beloved Jax to the vet because of what we thought was a sty on his eye. It wound up being a cyst that was a lot bigger than we realized. Another reason (and our main concern) was his weight loss. We knew he lost weight, but we didn't realize just how much. He's lost 50 lbs since his last visit (172 to 127). We immediately scheduled an ultrasound to, hopefully, find out the reason. The tests found a mass on his kidney. It's either a huge cyst that can be drained or, worst-case scenario, it's cancer. The only way to find out is with a CT scan, which is the reason for this GoFundMe. We are NOT and have NEVER been the type of people to ask for anything but, right now, we just don't have the 3,000 dollars it will cost to pay for the scan. If it wasn't time-sensitive, we would never ask. Please, any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated and remembered. Thank you for reading this excessively long post.
