Jasper is more than just a dog—he’s our family’s protector and my son’s favorite companion. For the past 8 years, he’s been by our side through everything. As a beagle corgi mix, he’s full of personality and love, but what makes him truly special is his role as my hearing alert dog. I have bilateral hearing loss, and Jasper is trained to alert me when I can’t hear something important. He’s always looking out for us, and now he needs us to look out for him.

Recently, Jasper became very sick after eating a pair of my underwear, which caused an intestinal blockage. He hasn’t been able to eat or keep fluids down, and he’s currently staying overnight at our local vet’s office in Westport. Tomorrow, he’ll undergo surgery to remove the blockage. We just bought a house, so we can’t get approved for care credit or loans, and we’ve spent the last of our money on bills to get him the treatment he needs. The total vet bill is overwhelming, and we’re doing everything we can to help him recover.
