On Monday morning, I found a little dog limping through Sherwood Forrest in El Portal. At first, I thought he might have been hit by a car, but after rushing him to the vet, X-rays revealed something much worse—shrapnel in his leg. Jasper, as I’ve named him, had been shot, and his right front leg was broken. Despite everything, Jasper has shown nothing but sweetness and resilience, even while in terrible pain.
Jasper is not even two years old and has been surviving on the streets, facing unimaginable hardship. The vet says he needs a complex amputation to remove his injured leg, and he also needs to be neutered to ensure his long-term health. The cost of surgery and care is more than the rescue, Homeward Bound Animal Rescue Inc., can manage alone, and we’re reaching out for help so Jasper can finally have the pain-free life he deserves.
Your support will go directly toward Jasper’s amputation and neutering, giving him a real chance at a bright future. Every donation, no matter the size, will help this sweet dog heal and find comfort. Thank you for considering a gift to help Jasper—your kindness means the world to all of us.
