Help Jasper Heal After a Severe Dog Attack
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Erica. I’m raising funds to cover emergency vet care for my beloved dog, Jasper, who was attacked by a large breed dog on April 27, 2025.
Jasper is a sweet, quirky Jack Russell–Chihuahua mix — a rescue who’s been my loyal companion through life’s hardest times. He’s gentle and goofy, and he means everything to me.
What happened:
A friend brought his dog over, assuring me she was friendly and got along well with small dogs. During a short, outdoor supervised visit, his dog suddenly lunged and clamped onto Jasper, shaking him violently. My friend couldn’t intervene due to his own disabilities, so I stepped in. The dog redirected and bit into my leg causing puncture wounds and muscle damage.
Jasper’s injuries:
Jasper suffered a large tear on his head, deep puncture wounds, lacerations, infection, and required multiple surgeries, drains, stitches/sutures, meds, and repeated hospital visits. He’s still recovering and requires frequent follow-ups to prevent further complications. So far, his vet bills have already exceeded $8,000, with more to come.
Why I’m asking for help:
My friend promised to help pay but has since disappeared. They have no assets or insurance. I live with serious health conditions and survive on a limited income — and now I’m left to cover everything alone. Jasper is my family and my reason to keep going. He saved me more than once — now I need to save him.
How you can help:
Donate: Every dollar goes directly to Jasper’s care.
Share: Please share our story — it helps more than you know.
I’ve included photos to show Jasper’s journey (graphic images are excluded to avoid upsetting anyone).
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for caring about Jasper and helping him heal.
With gratitude,
Erica & Jasper
