Jasper was adopted by me, Mike, just a few days ago. Two days after he arrived in his new home he was diagnosed with parvovirus, and his condition deteriorated rapidly. The wonderful doctors at the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital got him stabilized and will continue to treat him throughout his recovery.
As I’m sure many of you know, parvovirus is an insidious disease and is very contagious. Because of this, patients require isolation and expert treatment to survive. (Most veterinary hospitals do not have the facilities for the successful treatment of parvovirus!). All of this comes at a cost, both emotional and financial.
- All funds collected will go directly towards Jasper‘s care. If there is anything left over after all the bills are paid, those funds will be donated to the Athens Humane Society.
