(The story summary is in BOLD)

Hi, I am Jason today I would like to tell you about my mother, Vicki, from Altadena who needs your help.

Vicki is the friend you can always count on. Whenever you need help she will be there to help. She donates her time to teaching free parenting classes for those in need and delivering food to the elderly for Meals on Wheels in Altadena. She lived in a Janes Cottage in Altadena, California, for the last 25 years of her life. She was getting close to retiring when a fire altered her life. Vicki is a hard-working American single mother of two who lost everything she worked 40 years for because of the Eaton Canyon Fire.

My mother loves helping others; together, we can help her in return.

So many friends, family, people she helped, and neighbors have reached out to ask, “How can we help your mother?” I created this GoFundMe on her behalf because she is "computer-ly challenged." :-D. Please donate if possible. If you can't donate, please share this with two people you love and ask them to share this with two people they love.

Your contributions will help her through this challenging time.
We’re seeking support to cover unexpected costs.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Thank you for your help and consideration, God bless you, Jason, Vicki's son.

(Evacuation Story)

My mother was told to evacuate on Jan 8th at 3 am PST. She jumped up grabbed her cat and ran out of her house to her car. She then drove from Altadena, CA to to a donut shop in Pasadena to wait for the "all clear" sign that she could return home. She hoped for the best while also praying that the firefighters would be able to save her home. She waited until 1 pm PST all the while enduring horror stories from all of her neighbors fleeing as their houses caught on fire. She sat in anticipation hoping that she would hear something from someone. She just wanted to know if her house was ok, but she never heard anything from anyone. Finally should couldn't stand it anymore, so she drove back to Altadena, CA to see if her house had suffered the same fate as so many of her neighbor's homes had suffered. She was praying she would see the home she had fought so hard to get was still standing, but she only found a chimney, and the remnants of a small modest old home that had turned to ash.
