Help Jason's Fight Against Melanoma
My younger brother Jason was diagnosed with Melanoma in January of 2021.
In April of 2021, he underwent a surgical removal of his right thumb at Dana Farber in Boston.
As part of this surgery, they also removed lymph nodes from his right armpit, and discovered that at least two of them tested positive for metastatic disease. As a result of all of this, he was put at a Stage IIId.
He has since been undergoing immunotherapy treatments here in Presque Isle (via a port in his chest) every two weeks, as well as having PET scans every three months, as well as trips to Boston every 6 months. In January of this year (2022) his PET scan showed evidence of nodules on both lungs, which was confirmed by a CT scan. February 24 he had a lung biopsy done in Portland to determine if the nodules are evidence that the melanoma has spread to his lungs; we are currently awaiting results and remain hopeful it hasn't spread.
Any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated, and help alleviate the ongoing burden that these mounting medical and travel costs will involve.
Thank you so much for any help you feel led to give.
