I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help, but here I am. I’m facing knee surgery that will put me out of work for at least six weeks, and as the only income earner in a household of four, this has me worried. My job is our lifeline, and without it, I’m not sure how we’ll manage to keep up with rent, bills, and groceries. The thought of falling behind or losing our home while I’m trying to recover is honestly terrifying.
