Hi, this is Tammy. As many of you know, my husband Jason, is Jamaican. He is from the western part of Jamaica. Yesterday the eye of Melissa passed over his hometown. He has a great deal of family members all residing in Westmoreland Jamaica. I’m quite sure his 14yr old daughter had a most life threatening experience that will traumatically stay with her the rest of her life. She was with family members, including Jason’s mother, and they had sought shelter in a relatives more structurally safe house in the hours leading up to the storm.
As of yesterday afternoon we have lost complete contact and will just remain praying for news of their well being. These days leading up to any indication that they are ok, is going to be overwhelming hard but, I have faith they are ok.
Just before losing contact, they were able to tell my sister-n-law that they had seen the roofs of Jason’s mother’s house and other family members abodes, fly away. The house they were staying in was taking in water on the first floor so, they were moving upstairs. This is the last I know of their condition as of now.
These next months, or probably year, are going to be hard times of rebuilding and trying to get back to normal. I’m asking for help so that the money can be used to build them (Jason’s daughter lives with his mother) a new shelter. A new home. ♥️
Thank you for taking time to read this and I gratefully appreciate and thank you for any donations.
