Help Jason And His Parents Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected

On 11/26/24, our house caught on fire. It started on the side where my parents' bedroom is and destroyed their bedroom. The rest of the house is completely ruined by the smoke and black soot making the house unsafe to live in. It also has no power or water, the power can't be turned back on until repaired and inspected which will take a while to do and we have no money to fix it right away.
Hi there,
I'm Jason. I'm a Marine Corps veteran with terrible depression, anxiety, and sleep apnea. I've been living with my parents because of my mental health and have been out of work because of it. But it does allow me to help my parents out since they have trouble doing things around the house because of their health and age.
My Dad is disabled with severe liver problems and can't do much because of his illnesses. My Mom works part-time to help the family out. Me and my Mom help take care of my Dad since he requires a lot of assistance. All his meds burned up in the fire.
The entire house is ruined right now—black soot on everything, and lots of things damaged from the heat and smoke. My parents' bedroom is destroyed by the fire. They lost everything they had in there. All their memories of the past are gone. All the pictures of the family from years ago are gone now. All they have left is the clothes on their back. Unfortunately, they lost 3 of their fur babies in the fire, which couldn't be saved. Every attempt was made but the fire was too fierce. My parents had a 4th dog that got lucky and survived the fire. The firefighters were able to save him. My dogs were able to get to safety.
While me and my parents weren't hurt and everyone made it out safe, by the Grace of God, me and my parents are entirely numb with pain. We are still processing and trying to figure out our next steps. There is no insurance to cover anything. No savings to help out. Nowhere to stay long term.
The house doesn't have electricity or water right now. We can't have the power turned on until the wiring in the house is completely redone and inspected. It will be a while before we can do that. But we do not have the funds right now to fix the house.
I dislike the idea of asking people for money. But in this dire time. I have no choice. I won't beg for myself. But I will beg for my parents and my dogs. While money cannot replace what was lost, it can help to provide clothes, food, temporary housing, and any other immediate necessities. Any donation, even a dollar, would help me, my parents, and the fur babies we have tremendously.
Thank you to everyone for supporting me and my parents and considering donating to bring us some relief and hope out of this devastation. You are appreciated more than you know.
Love and gratitude to all.
