For those of you who don’t know, my brother Jason was paralyzed from the waist down three weeks after his 21st birthday. He was a professional tree surgeon. He is now 46.

His injury has been complicated over the years by pressure sores and broken Harrington rods. He is in a great deal of pain and is bed-ridden much of the time.

Earlier this year, Jason learned that the house he’s living in has been put on the market. Within the past couple of months, Jason was made aware that a buyer had put in an offer.

We are hoping to raise some money so Jason can have a small piece of land to build a place for himself (with the help of his childhood friends). He doesn’t need much, really, just a one-room structure with a bathroom.

It is for this reason that we – Jason, our brother Matt, our mom Kit, and me – are trying to raise enough funds to help facilitate this for Jason. Jason already has the tools, materials, etc. to build said structure. All that’s needed is the piece of land. He's currently living in Brevard, NC but is willing to relocate.
