Help Jason Rebuild After Job Loss to New Beginnings

Hi, my name is Jason and I need your help.

After spending 31 years helping others solve problems in IT, I never imagined I’d be facing the challenge of rebuilding my own path.

Thirteen months ago, I lost my job. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet, but the current IT and general job climate has made it incredibly difficult to land another position. I’ve spent 31 years working in IT as a customer-focused support specialist, dedicated to enhancing client experiences, solving problems, and building the kind of trust that fosters long-term loyalty. Helping people has always been at the center of what I do.

Despite applying, networking, and continuing to search for new opportunities, the extended gap has made things financially challenging. I’m doing my best to stay afloat, but the reality is that I’m struggling to remain above water and could really use some help right now.

Rather than waiting indefinitely for the right opportunity to come along, I’m trying to create a path forward for myself. One thing I’ve always enjoyed is working with my hands and restoring things that others might overlook. Ranging from simple little items such as a chair or nightstand to furniture and even arcade machines. Recently, I’ve started picking up furniture and items people put out as trash, restoring them, and reselling them. It’s been incredibly rewarding to take something discarded and give it a second life.

My goal is to build on this and begin creating wood projects that I can sell—things like small furniture pieces, practical household items, and handmade décor. I’m hoping to begin working on projects within the next four weeks. To do that, though, I need a few essential tools to get started.

Many retailers offer power tool bundles that include tools like a circular, miter, or table saw, an orbital sander, a nail gun, and other essentials. These bundles typically go on sale a few times a year for around $600–$700, and having access to those tools would allow me to start building projects right away. In the future, I’d also love to invest in a CNC router so I can create more detailed and precise pieces.

Right now, I’m hoping to raise enough support to help cover some basic living expenses while also allowing me to purchase the tools needed to get this small woodworking venture started. My goal is to turn hard work and creativity into a steady source of income while I continue searching for opportunities in my field.

If you’re able to donate, share this campaign, or simply help spread the word, it would mean the world to me. Your support wouldn’t just help me get through a difficult time—it would help me start building something meaningful and sustainable for the future.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you’re able to offer.
