Help Jason & Melissa Rebuild After Fire

Our names are Jason and Melissa Pegram. We live and work in a smallish town in Lebanon, TN, and have lived in our apartment for over 10 years now.

There was an apartment fire at our apartment on Saturday. We are both safe; however, our apartment is uninhabitable, and many of our belongings and most of our living room furniture are ruined.

Everything is wet, covered in debris, and full of smoke and ash. We unfortunately did not have renter's insurance. This is on me, as the apartment was initially my apartment, and as a carefree 20-something when I signed the lease, I literally had nothing of value to insure. I never thought to get it later.

We have to stay at a hotel until at least Wednesday, and then comes the fun part... We have to move. This is not without financial burden as well. We will have to rent a U-Haul, potentially hire someone to help with the furniture we do have left, and of course, the fees to set up the utilities. Not to mention, both of us have had to miss work, and neither of us have PTO time, so we will have reduced wages.

Everyone has been asking what they can do to help, and honestly, the most help right now would be money. Any money you give would be used to help with our expenses to move and replace our belongings. If there is anything left over, I will donate it to the Red Cross because they helped us with paying for this hotel, and that has been a blessing to have somewhere safe to sleep.
