Help Jason Laugh Again

Hello my name is Laura Drake and I am a friend of Jason Lawrence - a very special person who brings love and laughter into everything he does. He is always the first to help someone in need and now the guy with two first names (aka Larry Lawrence) needs our help. He is currently at Medstar Georgetown University hospital in DC where he was admitted after developing pneumonia on November 11. He’s suffered double pneumonia and remains there sedated. He’s had several frightening episodes along the way and his parents Deb and Art remain diligent as they stay by his bed each and every day. I had the fortune of meeting them as I visited him this week. I was honestly not prepared for what I saw and it broke my heart for him and his family. He did not know I was there and could not acknowledge me but as I told Deb I could feel my Madonna, Cindy Lauper loving pal talk to me. He wants to laugh again.

He’s got a long road ahead and he needs our help. He’s been in the hospital in ICU, on vents and several antibiotics and other meds with dangerously high fevers for close to a month now and unfortunately a release doesn’t seem in sight in the near future.

His expenses are piling up and while we all know he’d never ask for this we believe we can collectively help ease the financial burden. That’s the purpose of this site and I’m hoping all who know and love him and are able to donate will.

I realize we’ve set a lofty goal but the average hospital stay is nearly $3,000 a day. His normal living expenses remain and he’s got a long road of recovery ahead of which he has no idea.
