Hello, Everyone! We are Seance Of Sorrow. A hard rock band with a theatrical, horror concept.

We’d like to tell you a little bit about the band, the story we’re telling, our short history, and our upcoming project that we need your help with. Formed in 2020 by lead singer and main song writer, Jason Todd, he began this project to tell the fictional story of Michael Morrison. Played by Todd, each song is a horrifying musical depiction of Michaels short life, brutal murder, and the psychic visions he experiences through the ritual of music. Every vision provides new clues to who was involved in his murder and how his death unfolded.

Jason wrote and recorded a handful of songs in 2020 - 2021 and began searching for band members to film music videos of them. This led to three music videos being released in 2024. Two originals that tell the beginning of Michael’s story, ‘Unholy Angel’, and ‘Dark Rain.’ As well as a cover of Like A Stone, by Audio Slave.

This was a tumultuous and very expensive undertaking. Having spent $10,000 out of his own pocket and constantly going through lineup changes, he was left feeling very exhausted and somewhat defeated. However, he didn’t let that turn his dream into a nightmare. Fortunately, the hard work paid off in some regard by leading him to his new friend, lead guitarist and co-songwriter Joey Blackbeard. As well as our bass player, Nic Robison. After completing songwriting sessions together at the end of last year, we now have an album that is currently being mixed and mastered. Now, we’re ready to continue telling Michael’s story and will be

shooting 3 music videos at the end of this month. As well as announcing a release date for the album, “From The Black’, later this year.

With Jason being a blue collar worker and a father to a 3 year old, it’s tough enough to keep his bills paid. And after spending $10,000 last year out of his own pocket, he really can’t do it again. It’s nice to have Joey and Nic contribute this time around. Both of which have their own bills to pay. However, in order to provide the best production value possible, we need MORE help. This is where you come in.

The total budget for this project is $15,000. That will cover the recording, mixing, mastering, video shoots, and our fee to our publicist. And keep in mind, this is only for these three songs, not the entire album. The total budget for the album will be $50,000. That does not include the $10,000 we have already spent either. But we want to stress that we are not asking for a hand out. Only a helping hand. If we reach our projected goal of $5,000, that is only 1/3 of the total budget of these next three songs and only 10% of the total remaining budget for the album. What we have with this project, we believe is truly special. And needs to be shared with the world. But the world hasn’t been too kind to musical artists for nearly two decades now. With streaming services disrupting the market, it has completely devalued music. Leaving artists like ourselves trying to figure out how to navigate this difficult landscape. And it doesn’t stop there. With nearly every turn, the market has taken more and more away from artists. The touring market is the harshest it’s been in half a century. Ticket prices are the highest they have ever been. The cost fuel, food, and lodging are the highest they have ever been. Venues are taking higher and higher percentages of Merch sales than they ever have before. And EVERYONE gets paid before the band does. Which doesn’t leave new, independent artists, many options for funding. Fortunately, we live in the age of the internet and social media where platforms like GoFundMe exist. So, we’re launching this campaign in hopes that you’ll help us reach our goals.
