Help Jason beat cancer & stay close to his kids
Donation protected
I need to secure the rent for a London flat - or my cancer treatment plan falls apart.
I’m Jason, a single dad to amazing six-year-old twin boys. I was diagnosed in June with a form of head and neck cancer that can affect speech, eating and everyday communication. Since then, I’ve had two operations, including a neck dissection (yes, that does sound like one of the countless dodgy heavy metal bands I've written about over the last 35 years).
Thanks to generous gifts and loans from donors and friends, I’ve pulled together the £29,000 cost of private radiotherapy with one of the world’s top specialists. But there’s a problem:
My treatment - six weeks of daily radiotherapy, plus four more to recover from debilitating side effects - will be in London.
I don't live in London, but will need to be there for the whole thing.
That means finding somewhere to live in the capital right now, close enough to the hospital for treatment and close enough to my kids so I can still be their dad, as opposed to a distant, irradiated mess.
London rents are brutal, and I also have to keep paying my Brighton rent to keep our home safe for after treatment.
Every donation goes towards me securing that London base, so I can focus on getting through treatment and sticking around for my boys.
I refuse to leave them.
Anything beyond our current £22K target will help me chip away at the debt I've taken on to pay for part of radiotherapy.
Any amount you can spare will make a real difference. Thank you so much for reading and for helping me win this fight!
Jason ❤️❤️
P.S. Let me share the Number One reason I need to survive this cancer. My six year olds have set up an Alexa reminder that will go off in 20 years and grandly announce, "It's time for Daddy to poop his pants." Clearly I need to be here, so as not to let them down...
