Jason's fight...
Jason’s ongoing cancer battle has led him to require further treatment, more Chemotherapy and Stem Cell therapy. He is facing the possibility of having to travel out of the Province for a prolonged period of time. The medical costs are covered, but the travel expenses for himself and Anna are not. Even if the therapy is to be continued here, Jason and Anna are finding that the financial burden is becoming too much to carry alone. Anna is unable to work as she needs to be home with him for around-the-clock care. With still raising their two daughters, they continue to try to retain a sense of normalcy.
Reaching out for help on their behalf is one thing we can do to help make life a little less stressful.
Any donations will be much appreciated.
Jason's Story...
After a year of suffering, pain in his stomach and difficulty eating, Jason knew something was wrong, but due to Covid 19, he could not see a physician in the office. After a visit to Royal Columbian Hospital, Jason was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma B Cell in October 2021.
Jason met his diagnosis as he does with most things in his life. He put his head down and went to work, determined to fight. First began R-Chop therapy (1st round of chemo) until February 2022. He was to begin Radiation therapy in May, but the entire family contracted Covid. In June 2022, Jason underwent 20 rounds of Radiation. During the 6 week's recovery period, he felt it wasn't moving in the right direction. By the 8th week post-radiation, he knew the cancer was back and growing quickly.
Now almost to the day, a year later, Jason received the devastating news that, indeed, the cancer was back and had now spread to other lymph glands. Jason began a new therapy called R-GDP, a very strong chemotherapy, with the expectation that it would shrink the mass enough to allow stem cell therapy to go ahead in December 2022.
If this therapy here is unavailable to Jason due to the requirement of the mass needing to be 50% less than the original size. The next therapy option will then be an out of Province treatment plan traveling to either Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa for an extended period of time.
Thank you in advance for any support. Hug your family. Twice.
