Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with hope and gratitude in my heart as I ask for your help in giving my son, Jason Young, an incredible opportunity that could shape his future. Jason is an exceptional student and an amazing young man. He is currently a high school junior with a 4.8 GPA, thriving in gifted and Dual Enrollment courses. He is also a dedicated student at Slidell High School and in the Culinary Arts program at NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts). But recently, something unexpected sparked a new light in him—film. After an inspiring conversation with his school counselor, Jason began to see filmmaking not just as an interest, but as a potential career path. He also got to meet the director of Katrina Babies and that helped change his mind too. He has now been accepted into a prestigious summer film program at Wake Forest University in North Carolina that could help him explore this passion and determine if this is the direction he wants to take in life. With graduation approaching in May 2026, this summer is a crucial moment for Jason. It’s a chance for him to step outside his comfort zone, dive into something new, and make informed decisions about his college and career goals.
Why We Need Your Help
Despite Jason’s hard work and dedication, we’re facing some tough financial times:
• NOCCA cannot help fund a summer program outside of Culinary Arts.
• Wake Forest University is not providing scholarships.
We’ve done all we can to support Jason’s dreams, and we’re so proud of everything he’s achieved. But we simply can’t cover the full cost of this summer program without some help. We have already put down a non refundable deposit $500 and his round trip flight. We believe in committing to the goal; because we believe God will make the way.
How You Can Help
We’re hoping to raise $2500 to cover tuition, travel, and any supplies Jason needs to participate in the film program. Every dollar helps—and whether you can give $10 or $100, we are beyond grateful.
If you can’t donate, you can still help by sharing this page with your friends and family. The more people who hear Jason’s story, the better chance he has of making this dream a reality.
We also believe in giving back. Our family volunteers regularly and has always believed in supporting our community. Now, we are hoping our community can help support us in return.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for reading, for caring, and for being a part of Jason’s journey. Let us help him discover where his passion can take him!
With love and gratitude,
Dia Young
