Help Jason and Adrienne
On July 24, Jason was in a jet ski accident which resulted in a broken femur. He was taken to the local hospital in the UP of Michigan where he was at. They called the orthopedic surgeon who looked at his x-ray. The surgeon was not comfortable doing his surgery and they transported him to Green Bay via ambulance, the next closest big hospital.
July 25 he went into surgery at 10:30am, the surgeon put a rod and 4 pins into his femur. At 2pm that day Jason was complaining of excruciating pain and said he could no longer feel his leg. It was discovered that due to the trauma he had significant swelling that cut off his blood circulation causing compartment syndrome. He was rushed to emergency surgery where they made two large incisions to his thigh. One on the outside and one on the inside. The surgeon stated there was so much pressure in his thigh that his quad muscle immediately bulged out of the incision. He has a wound vac to each incision. Later that night, they found out his hemoglobin had dropped significantly and he required blood transfusions.
July 26 they wanted to keep his pain controlled and monitor the swelling. He’s still having lots of pain and the swelling has not gone down.
July 27 they determined his hemoglobin was once again low and he had to get more blood transfusions. He is currently in his third surgery. We are not sure the outcome yet or what his recovery time will be. We appreciate all of the support and prayers and cannot wait to see our kids again and come home.
