Help Jason and Megan with medical bills

Dear Friends and Family,

 

My name is Michelle (Homrich) Van Dyke. I am an old high school friend of Katie (KT) Wilson and am reaching out to you after Katie’s passing on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. We lost our dear friend, wife, and mother who was a huge part of our lives and touched us all with her loving heart, bright and welcoming personality, and warm smile. Her absence leaves a huge void in everyone’s lives that can never be filled, whether that’s in her home, with her friends, or with the work-family she created at Spectrum Health.

 

Katie was 42 years old and leaves behind her husband Jason (Jay) Wilson of 21 years and her 17-year old daughter Megan (Megs), who was Katie’s world. They supported Katie during her hospital stays over the past seven months, hoping she would overcome her illness and supported her during all the physical and emotional trials. While the emotional toll on Jason and Megan is unbearable, there is also a financial toll that has become immense, causing more unneeded stress and pressure during a time when the family should be able to focus on their mourning and their beloved Katie. Jason will be going from a two-income household to one, all the while trying to recover from lost work, pay funeral costs, medical bills including a flight to Detroit from Grand Rapids, and ongoing costs related to Katie’s illness.
