Hi, my name is Jasmyn Gore-Roberts, and I’m a sophomore at Howard University majoring in TV, Media, and Film Production with a minor in Theatre Arts. I’m actively involved on campus as a member of the HU Showtime Marching Band — proudly performing as part of the Flashy Flags — and I also serve in the Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel’s Beacon Liturgical Dance Ministry. I've also contributed to many student and films while being part of the Howard University Film Organization (HUFO) along with off campus in my short period of time thus far while attending Howard.
Despite my deep commitment to both my academics and campus life, financial struggles have made it difficult to continue my journey at Howard. The financial aid process at the university has been challenging and inconsistent for many students, myself included. On top of that, scholarships and loans have been difficult to secure while balancing academics.
This fundraiser will help me cover essential expenses like transportation, food, housing, and most importantly tuition that will release my account hold so I can return to Howard in the spring. I’m working hard to earn my degree in Media and Communications, because I’m passionate about becoming a film director. I want to tell meaningful stories that reflect underrepresented voices and make an impact through film.
Any amount of support truly helps and brings me one step closer to my dream. Thank you for being part of my journey.
