Hello all, I didn't really expect to be writing this, but I'm glad that I've convinced myself, because I couldn't have got anywhere without community, its the reason I'm still here, and the reason I keep going, and I keep telling everyone else who makes one of these that they're actually only asking for the help they deserve, so I think it only right I now reach out to you for help and support x

My names Jasmine (They/She), and I'm raising money to help me grow into myself...I'm a trans, non binary Muslim woman, I'm a writer, a sort of scientist-ecologist-thinker (what is a scientist anyway, someone who asks questions right?), a poet, a workshop facilitator, and a deep lover of wildlife, bugs, threads between worlds, reality building, literature, my brown skin, jewellery....there's a lot actually and I won't end if I continue like this...

My gender journey has been one of mostly desperate acts. I feel all my life I've been in a constant state of escape. Its not always a bad way to be...sometimes escape can be beautiful and nourishing, and I'd say most of my outcomes are ones that I seek to find the beauty in myself already, but being held in this society, that tears into so many of us, and tries to cut us into the shapes of whiteness, heteronormativity, beauty standards, etc., I do feel cut into on all sides, and drained often of any control over who I am perceived as.

My gender therapy is the help I seek to nourish the body I have, and take back control and autonomy of my skin. Through hormone therapies and surgery, I want to live in the way I choose, to continue to question everything and everyone in the body I grow to love through the ways I alchemise it, and through these changes, to learn to look into the mirrors I come across and fall in love with what I see...I would like to - for once- live and thrive instead of just existing and surviving.

I need help to get there. I have been quite financially unstable in my life since I am not supported by family or any great wealth, and I have a number of health issues that stop me from being able to grow that wealth or support substantially...and the laws and society we are in cut even more into my capacity and health on a day to day basis.

The money will be used to fund a surgery, and hormone therapy, and support me through these changes.

I have thought about this for a long, long time, and I'm excited to have accepted that actually, it's OK to need these pushes to enjoy the vessel I'm in, and I am reshaping a forced narrative by doing so...

I hope with this fundraiser I can continue to do what I love, in the self that I want to love.
