My name is Jasmine, and I’m a parent to three wonderful kids. Right now, I also have temporary custody of my cousins’ four children, so I’m caring for seven kids in total. Over the past year, life has been incredibly challenging for us. After losing my job, we experienced homelessness and faced many difficult days. Through determination and support, I was able to secure a new home for my family and recently started a new job.

While I’m grateful for these new beginnings, we’re still facing some hurdles. Reliable transportation is essential for me to get to work and for our family to have the freedom to go places together. Without a car, every day is a struggle to find ways to get to work and provide for all the children in my care. We also need some basic household items to make our new place feel like home and to ensure we don’t risk becoming homeless again.
